Day tour to Ma Shi Chau, Po Sang Bee Farm, Lam Tsuen Wishing Trees
The sky is bright! Annually, our day tour in HK was held on 4 November, 2017 (Saturday) and received active response. Members all arrived on time and set out at 9:00 am on that day.
Hiking, takes you through the beautiful landscapes of the countryside, which is a perfect place for you to take refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city. Ma Shi Chau and the surrounding area is well-known for its great abundance of geological features and has been designated as a special area. The sedimentary rock of Ma Shi Chau is one of the oldest in Hong Kong and a rich diversity of fossils of marine life can be found there.
At noon, we went to Lung Wah Hotel for lunch, we enlighten our appetite at their popular pigeon dishes, its most famous in Shatin with the name – Shatin Pigeons.
In afternoon, we’re heading to Lam Tsuen, where we take the chance to visit the Lam Tsuen Wishing trees. Lam Tsuen, in Tai Po, was already a residential area 700 years ago during the Southern Song dynasty. Today, it still bustles with people and visitors thanks to its ‘wishing trees’.
The trip ends, we visit the Bee Farm which had 90 years of history of the first bee-keeping farm in Hong Kong and making a variety of nectar, pollen and honey products. In fact, there are bee-keepers who work in silence like little bees, making sweetness in the city, but why can’t we remember.
